A hobby classic, the orange iteration of the famous Porcellio scaber. Like all P. scaber these are exceptionally hardy and make an excellent and prolific cleanup crew for any number of creatures. Personally I have mine in two different roach bins, Pycnoscelus nigra and Gromphadorhina portentosa “LLE Mahogany”, and they are absolutely thriving in both. Both species of roach I house them with are in very high-ventilation setups with supplemental heat pads on one side, which means these setups can get quite dry. There have been times when I’ve realized I may have gone a little too long between mistings and thought, “Well, shoot, I’ve probably killed all the isopods,” only to be pleasantly surprised to find my Porcellio scaber doing just fine!
