This is a visually interesting morph of Porcellio scaber because you can have individuals that are almost entirely gray (wildtype) to almost entirely orange, with everything in-between being gray & orange speckled with some being heavier on orange, others heavier on gray, and some almost perfectly 50/50. There are so many morphs of P. scaber it is hard to pick a favorite, but if I had to choose I do think “Lava” would have to be my #1. Like all P. scaber, they are very easy to care for, tolerating wide ranges of both moisture levels and temperatures with a very generalist diet. As with all isopods, the majority of their diet can consist of dried leaves and rot wood, and you can supplement with fish flakes, vegetable scraps, cuttlebone, and even things like freeze-dried fish or treats marketed for chickens like black soldier fly larvae, etc.
